Cornwall Family Adopts Redwood at Trebah Garden for 100th Birthday

The Weatherhead family celebrated Sylvia Weatherhead’s 100th birthday by adopting a 150-year-old coastal redwood tree at Trebah Garden, near Falmouth, Cornwall. Three generations gathered to dedicate the majestic tree to Sylvia’s centenary, reflecting the family’s long-standing connection with the garden, which began when Sylvia and her late husband moved to the area in 1982. Over the years, Sylvia has commemorated family milestones at Trebah, and although she can no longer visit in person, she is delighted to have the redwood as her own special tree.
