Sequoia sempervirens ‘Mr Happy’

Coast Redwood

‘Mr Happy’ is a slow-growing, yellow-variegated cultivar of Sequoia sempervirens introduced by Bucholz & Bucholz, an Oregon nursery, before 2009. Its growth rate is notably slow, reaching only about 1.5 m in height after ten years (Auders & Spicer 2012). The yellow variegation on the foliage sets this cultivar apart from the typical green color of the species, adding a unique and cheerful appearance to the landscape.
