Sequoiadendron giganteum ‘Dolomore’

Giant Redwood

‘Dolomore’ is another selection made by Denis Hughes of Blue Mountain Nurseries, New Zealand, who discovered the parent plant in Dolomore Park, Gore, South Island sometime before 1993. This cultivar is a strongly weeping clone characterized by arching first-order branches and pendulous second-order branches and branchlets. Auders & Spicer describe ‘Dolomore’ as being “more compact and slower growing than ‘Pendulum’. In ten years, it reaches a height of 3 m and a width of 0.5 m” (Auders & Spicer 2012).
