Sequoiadendron giganteum ‘Von Martin’

Giant Redwood

‘Von Martin’ is a compact Sequoiadendron cultivar raised in the Netherlands before 1999. It forms a very neat, small, conical tree with a slow growth rate, reaching a height of 2.5 m and a width of 0.7 m in ten years. The foliage is typical of the species but turns bronze in winter, adding seasonal interest. ‘Von Martin’ is an excellent choice for gardens and landscapes where a compact, slow-growing conifer with attractive winter coloration is desired (Auders & Spicer 2012).
