Sequoiadendron giganteum ‘Yellow Stone’

Giant Redwood

‘Yellow Stone’ is a highly compact dwarf Sequoiadendron cultivar raised by Pieter Zwijnenburg in the Netherlands. With an annual growth of only about 5 cm, it ultimately reaches a height and width of just 60–70 cm, making it one of the few Sequoiadendron selections suitable for rock gardens. Its extremely slow growth rate and diminutive size set it apart from most other cultivars (Dendrologie Online 2006; Auders & Spicer 2012). ‘Yellow Stone’ is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a truly miniature giant sequoia for small spaces or specialized collections.
