Sequoiadendron giganteum ‘Yreka’

Giant Redwood

The cultivar ‘Yellow Tower’ was raised by Bill Wilson in the USA before 2008. Auders & Spicer (2012) initially describe it as a “fast growing” plant but later suggest it might reach a height of 2.5 m and a width of 1.2 m in ten years, which is quite moderate in the context of the species. The foliage of ‘Yellow Tower’ is noted for its distinctive golden hue, setting it apart from the typical green foliage of the species (Auders & Spicer 2012). This cultivar offers a unique combination of golden foliage and a relatively compact growth habit.
